A Brief History
In each Cantonment there is a Cantonment Board to serve the Municipal services to its inhabitants (Military/Civil). In this consequences Mymensingh Cantonment Board started its activities on 15 july 1990. In Bangladesh there are fifteen Cantonment Board in different Cantonments under Military Lands and Cantonments Directorate. The first CEO of Mymensingh Cantonment Board was Mr.Shafiq Alam Mehedi. He had been on service from 15/07/90 to 11/01/91.
Duties and Discretionary Function of Cantonment Board.
Cantonment Board Govern by the Cantonments Act, 1924 (Act II of 1924). As per the Act Mymensingh cantonment Board does all types municipal activities like conservancy service, running Schools, provide streetlights, setup and maintain gardens, roads, mosques, park, grave-yard, plantation and beautification etc.
At present there is one School under Mymensingh Cantonment Board.
